Júlia Almeida Calazans has a degree in Economics from the School of Economic
Sciences, UFMG (2011) and a master’s (2015) and doctorate (2021) in Demography
from the Center for Regional Development and Planning (CEDEPLAR/UFMG). She is
currently a postdoctoral researcher in the project Healthy lifespan inequality:
measurement, trends, and determinants at the Center for Demographic Studies
(CED/UAB). Her main areas of interest are mortality by cause of death, mortality
estimates, and demographic techniques.
